Every Free For Charity website starts from one of our two open-source templates. Which one fits depends on where your charity is starting from — the website application asks you to choose.
Single Page Site Template — starting fresh
For charities without a website (most pre-501(c)(3)s, and established charities that never had one). A volunteer designs and builds a complete single-page site from your content — mission, programs, team, donate, contact — with the full FFC footer, legal pages, cookie consent, and analytics built in. You provide the words and photos; we do the rest.
Footer-Only Template — you already have a site you love
For charities with an existing designed website. We keep your design and add the FFC standard underneath it: the Free For Charity footer, legal and policy pages, cookie compliance, and analytics — the validation and formality layer, without rebuilding what already works.
Both paths end the same way
Your site goes live and is validated on its free GitHub Pages address — that validation is what unlocks your free .org domain, and email follows the domain. Not sure which to pick? Choose "Not sure — recommend for us" on the order form and we'll advise.
