Free For Charity helps nonprofits get online for free, in a gated sequence — each step must be complete before the next unlocks:
- Onboarding — tell us about your charity (pre-501(c)(3) or approved 501(c)(3)). Your application must be fully approved before anything else.
- Website — a volunteer developer builds your site from our template and hosts it free on GitHub Pages. It goes live on its free GitHub Pages address first — no custom domain yet — and we validate it with you end to end.
- Domain — only after your website is validated do we spend the funds: we register a brand-new .org for you, or transfer a domain you already own, manage it in our Cloudflare account, and point it at your validated site.
- Email — approved 501(c)(3) charities set up free nonprofit email with Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace (this needs your live website and domain first).
